Until I got tied down with a family big football wins or other celebrations always meant a few drinks then a visit to Trafalgar Square! Then a couple of hours soaked to the skin in the fountains with lots of others who seemed to love getting wet as well. I once actually climbed to the top, with a bit of help! I have been in the fountains on New Years Eve, Bonfire Night and on several big win nights. General Election (not errection, tho I am sure that there were a few of those in spite of the cold water) nights were another occasion. Nowadays they fence the fountains off for "health and safety "reasons. That is such a shame! Unless you were there you would not believe how many people swam in and climbed the fountains fully clothed on those nights!

Nice wet memories! Soaked in clothes and having great fun and getting cheers from the crowd the wetter you got. They were great nights.

Now, down in the south east, they have tuned all the fountains off becaue of 'the drought'. So that's out of the question. Still we do have the sea!

Damn dont live nr the sea.

Rivington is quite good for lakes and streams though.

If we lived near the sea Frilly would never want to bonk in bed again!! (Well perhaps we would be indoors in the winter)

The sea is fabulopus in the summer between about late July and Sept - especially for impromptu wet clothing dips - then walking home watching the gobsmacked faces of all the passers-by. But the rest of the year it is toooooooo cold. Sorry I am a wimp about that.

I'm in the sea just about every day at this time of the year, but not wearing my clothes. Instead, I wear just about the worlds smallest Speedo's, which also promots a few gobsmacked looks from passers by.

In our cold sea water it is not just the speedos that would be very small!
