Hello,
On of the best ever gunge scenes seems to be lost to the archives. Kenny and Lenny Bennett, were accompanied by gorgeous models in lavish period dresses. As the song 12 days of Christmas was sung, each time a bird was mentioned, gunge fell from above, the coverage was amazing. One of the girls was a well known page 3 girl of the time
This wonderful gunge scene was indeed part of the 1984 Christmas special. It was definately on BBC1. Kenny had signed for the BBC by then.
His BBC series have been repeated many times on cable or satellite channel like UK gold. However the 12 days of Xmas gune scene never has been
This is because the Xmas special was seperate from the actual series. It was longer and filmed as a one off special outside the series. Which is why it does fit in with a run of shows that are repeated.
I just wander if anyone has it somewhere. Cant even find it on any of the sites like Wamtec. Would be a dream to see it again!
Regards,
Scott

I have always missed the repeats it seems !
I must You Tube for some of those impossible to win ' Star Quiz ' skits which always ended up in a deluge of green gunge !
I only remember the Wogan one I think it was him.
There must have been a few ladies involved in them at some point ! I think this is one of my earliest memories of mainstream slapstick !
Edited to add :-
I just checked, I could only find Bernard Manning and Wogan on the You Tube search ! Oh well, for those who like Male Wam then there's two more for the collection !

Who ate all the pies ? What a waste of pie !
I emailed an established video retailer who has the official Kenny Everett DVD's for sale.
They knew the sketch, and, in fact, had the 1984 Xmas special in their own collection recorded from the tv at the time.
But they confirmed that this was not available commercially, so I guess it's down to anyone who has the tv recording, or who can beg or borrow one.

Well researched Etonman. Your video retailer sounds like another comedy/slapstick geek - which is very handy to have.
It makes you wonder why it hasn't made it onto DVD or been repeated (as far as I know). This is usually through it containing something now deemed tasteless (a few editions of Rising Damp have suffered this way) or one of the celebs not giving their permission. Or perhaps it featured Gary Glitter? I don't know but I really want to find out now!

In ITV1's recent Kenny Everett documentary (License To Laugh) there was a various brief snippet of a slimed Billy Connolly, who had obviously failed to win Star Quiz.
I love the Star Quiz concept. I think I'll rip it o... er, come up with a similar idea for the next Tiswas Night.

I guess that the guy is just interested in comedy tv generally, rather than slapstick or Kenny E specifically, maybe a collector with a p/t business dealing in official videos.
He did suggest that some progs are not issued on DVD due to problems with the copyright of the music used...it may have been licenced for only the original broadcast, not for later re-use in repeats or commercial DVD's?
