I always attributed my interest in attractive girls, ideally in boots, getting wet with early exposure to Sally James and Tiswas. I had a vague recollection of arousing outfits in the 'the worm that turned' on the Two Ronnies in the seventies but didn't remember this. Lordy. Am just looking for more.

I knew there was something I missed being stuck over here in warm-but-not-sunny Spain. Great British comedy from the days when the only PC you had to worry about was the bobby on the beat who gave you a cuff round the ear for nicking from the Pick n Mix counter (is this a bit Richard Littlejohn?). Seriously, the Two Ronnies - can't beat 'em!

However, if you like wet PVC can I recommend an Avengers episode called A Surfeit of H20 (a b/w Diana Rigg one). This is nothing more than an excuse for Emma to dress in a wide range of PVC and leather outfits, got soaked and wrestle in the rain. Some great 60s PVC fashion too! Got mine as part of a boxed set (I love The Avengers) and was gobsmacked at how pervy it was!

Happy to hear any other wet/messy PVC clip nominations.

Thank you kneehigh21 . I well remember 'The worm that turned'. Ronnie Barker was undoubtedly of the same opinion as us lot here. (Actually his adopted pseudonym for scriptwriting had the same surname as me). I wonder if we were related in some strange way or was there some telepathy going on?

That is just mint!!! a classic............ I so love the Barker style of comedy..
The name alone the worm that turned......... I still think 'Open all hours' is one the best comedys ever made, highly under rated in my humble opion.

He certainly was...much the more talented (IMHO) of the Two Ronnies.

Odd how 99% of all their shows were family humour, then sketches like "The Worm that Turned" (wet PVC uniforms and boots, indeed. ) sometimes suddenly appeared.

Yes the Rons did slip the odd adult gag in their shows usually acompanied by Ronnie Baker raising and lowering his eyebrows!

Bill is a huge fan but he would be - he wrote for the show. One of his sketches will be appearing on the Two Ronnies Sketchbook on UK Gold again very shortly he tells me.

Before you ask...that's worth about five quid in repeat fees!

I first head of this last year, from a few people. This is one of the things that Bill has as an atribute. He come up with one liners out of thin air.

Where as if I am trying to right something funny for a scene I have to think about it. Go on Bill get some more comedy writing done.

Thanks for the plug, Hay, but I have no idea when it will be on. People in the pub assume I am making a fortune from all the ITV3 repeats but they were before I started writing for them.

Much more impressive is, of course, The Worm that Turned, a strange prediction of political correctness from the 80s. In case, anyone doesn't know (or doesn't recognise the style), that was written by Mr Barker himself. I like to give writers credit where due...

The ITV3 repeats have some great guests on as well. Tina Charles, whatever became of her? See, it wasn't always Barbara Dickson.
