Off topic - the missing dollar.

Three friends arrived in a new town and decided to save some money by sharing a hotel room.
The manager told them the room was $30, so they handed over $10 each and checked in.
After they'd gone to their room, the manager realized he'd made an error. The room should only have cost $25 dollars.
He called the bell boy and gave him 5 dollar bills. He told him to take it up to the gentlemen who had just checked in.
In the lift, the bell boy started thinking ... "Hmmm ... how can I share $5 between three men fairly? This is getting complicated."
In the end, he had a brainwave. He pocketed $2, and when he got to the room, he gave the men a dollar each.
So now ... the men originally paid $10 each (total $30). But now they've each had a $1 refund, meaning they've paid $9 each.
Three men paying $9 each makes a total of $27. We know that the bell boy put $2 in his own pocket....
... $27 + $2 = .................... $29
So - what happened to the other dollar?
