I've recently posted this subject on the umd.net forum (got a lot of responses to it, too!), and I thought I'd post it here.
Is WAM degrading to women? I imagine some feminists would say that. After all, a women wallowing in a liquid to arouse men--that's exploitation! (in their eyes, that is)
My opinion is that as long as the lady enjoys doing it, feels comfortable, and is well aware of the sexual aspect of it, then there's nothing wrong with it at all.
By the way, Hayley and Bill, I understand your magazine got criticized by a radical feminist once, is this true?
(This doesn't apply to male WAMing. Nothing wrong with that, in the eyes of feminists!)

despite being an interesting topic, i feel it's an exhausted one.
I also seem to remember responding to a topic much like it on *this* forum also...
I think elements of it can be degrading, but as with a lot of fetishes it's about the consent. Obviously tieing someone to a chair and pelting them could be seen as degrading, but said women tied to chair might like it..
Blahhhhhhhhhhh I like it, I do it with people who like it.
Fuck politics and extreme fem views on the matter, each to their own.

As they say in parliament, I refer the member to the reply given earlier. I thought it seemed familiar.

OK, it was I who posted the old thread, several months ago. I'm not trying to "flog a dead horse," I just thought it was a good time to revive this subject, that's all.

First off, define what you mean by "feminists". Hint, you don't have to be female to believe in women's equality!
Secondly, you appear to be assuming that all WAM (or Sploshing, to give it its proper name) is "women wallowing in a liquid to arouse men". I know women who wallow in liquid to arouse themselves. I also know women who simply find the whole thing fun and a good laugh, and don't particularly care whether women, men, or anyone else gets turned on or not. There are people who enjoy messy play who aren't into it sexually at all, just for the fun aspect. They probably aren't interested in looking at pictures, but would jump at the chance to have a water fight or food fight with some friends, simply because hosing down your mates in hot weather is a complete riot to do.
Moving on to the final point, why do you say that feminists have no problem with male wam? Some of the more radical tend to view all forms of erotica as being exploitative, regardless of whether it's men or women involved. This tends to be a fairly minor view but it does exist.
The more mainstream feminist POV that I'm aware of is that erotica is fine as long as the people in it (male or female) aren't being exploited. Unfortunately there is a huge amount of exploitation in the sex business in general, and a great deal of it involves the virtual enslavement of young women from poor countries who are lured to rich ones with promises of jobs as nannies or similar, but then find themselves forced into prostitution when they arrive. The same thing probably happens to young men too, but not to anything like the same degree, hence it's not heard of as much.
There does seem to be a tendancy in some Sploshing communities to talk about women as if they were an entirely different species, about which "we" know almost nothing. Personally I think that's more degrading than anything else. Women are people too, treat them as equals and friends instead of aliens and/or fetish objects, and life becomes a whole lot richer. I think some people would find far more sploshing partners or models than they'd ever imagine otherwise - all the young women who pose for my photosets are personal friends, not just paid models, and I think the same applies to some (most?) of the larger producers too.
Sorry for the ramble, seem to be in a rambling mood tonight!

yes - it is - I don't care. I love being degraded in this way - I am a TV so my eyes have been fairly wide open. Being a girl such as myself who has been very naughty, just food being splshed over me is a nice change!
