<B> Here we go again for another fantastic UMD meet up in London and your all invited.</B> :D

We have moved the location, we have been on the prow for a while for a new place to make home of our UMD meet ups and after a bit of exploring we have come up with The Penderels Oak in Holborn. After a couple of good test runs we are sure this will turn into a firm fave for future meets. More info on this below.

<B>The Date:</B> Thursday the 27th September 2007
<B>The Time:</B> From 5pm till late ( Pub chuck out time at 1am )
<B>The Location:</B> The Penderels Oak in Holborn 283-288 High Holborn, WC1V 7HP
Nearest tube, Holborn and Chancery Lane, see the attached map for directions.

<B>Why did you choose the new location?</B>

We out grown our old location, we have a lot of people coming to the meets these days, sadly the old pubs in Soho were just to small, crowded and noisy. Also our friends at Soho council do not permit many late licenses in Soho making it impossible to even find a bar open till 12.

The new pub is nice and large, it has 2 large bars, the main upstairs bar is where we will be based. There is plenty of seating and no risk of being crammed in a tiny corner, it's also a nice open layout making the group easy to spot.

The pub serves a very good selection of Ales,Wine,Beers,Spirits, alcopops and cocktails. They do a good range of soft drinks and they do pub grub and offers too, where else in the city can you get a Beer, Burger and Chips for a fiver.

Last of all this pub has a late license so it does not close till 1am, making plenty of time to sink a few drinks.

<B>How do i find the right group?</B>

Bring a copy of the A-Z or a London tube map. Leave the A-Z near you as the meeting gets underway so we can all find each other. Also look out for an England flag which i will also leave hanging around. Look for the Shirt! Fetchingly modeled by Easy_as

<B>What’s the idea of these meets?</B>

The idea of these meets are for people from the WAM community to meet other fellow wammers and old and new. It’s a top excuse to sink lots of beer, discuss all thing wet and messy, plan future events and generally get to know each other a little better in real life. Also a great place to offer your services, Buy and sell wam stuff and have fun! But don’t worry we don’t always talk about wam, - a lot of other general chitter chatter goes on to, so feel free to talk about anything you like.

If you have never been before please come if you can, everyone is friendly. We have a great group and we always welcome new people, so pop along.

<B>Im not from London am I invited?</B>

Anyone and everyone who wants to come is invited, we have had people come long and far to attend these meets. If you up for it come along.

<B>London again – why?</B>

Plenty of meets are in London because there are lots of wammers living in the south, also it’s a easy place to commute to. These days lots more action is happening outside London, such as Leeds and Warrington – so currently you have 3 active “Meets” to choose from. Other areas are planning “meets” too, look out for your nearest gathering!!!! Or organize one!!!!

Well that's it – pop you name on the list if you want to come along.

Please refer to http://umd.net/forums.html?topicid=91988 for a map and a pic of the pub.

Any questions please pm us.

<B>See you there!</B> :D

Count me in - won't this be the first 'official' London meet in ten months by the time it's held - seems like a great choice of venue too.
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

I have a horrible feeling that date clashes with something else, though I can't remember what! Probably nothing of relevance to anyone else though. Might wander along if I'm in London that weekend, though Lady J's schedule for September isn't known yet.

The new venue looks great! Wish I could join you, guys ... :(

I'll likely be in the UK in late Nov / early Dec if you fancy a low-key meet (it would be my first in AGES, and I'd love to have a pint and chat with my old messy muckers)

If you're ever looking for another pub again try this site:

www.fancyapint.com

My favourite pub in the Holburn area is the Citie of Yorke - well worth a pint on the way to the meet.

That's not a bad pub either, but for now this is a decent pub we have chosen, if we outgrow the Penderel Oak then we should think about getting Wembley Arena next time !!!!!

Yes Driversoft, it will be about 10 months !

Hope to see you there ! :D

Ok,

Here is a timely bump for the next London Meet thread !

Glad to hear that the Leeds Splunch went well, so for those of us that couldn't make that or want another fix of other sploshers company . . . . reading this should whet the appetite.

Yes, that is whet and not WET . . . . . although of course it probably should be . . . . and now I am rambling.

Anyway, my work here is done.

So, who is coming ?

I'll be there.

Gotta do some Tiswas research at the British Library during the day, so I can finish my research work with some like-minded Tiswas fans.

guys....
I'd so love to come to this....

I particularly like the cloak-and-dagger sytle A-Z on the table placement.... maybe you should use a code phrase like in the movies.....

"Do you know any good white basketball players?"
"There are no good white basketball players my friend!"

(name that movie!, or is that another thread....?)

however, for me London is far, far away....also I'm looking after my new 5 week old baby....a challenge but what a sweetie he is.... so a meet (right now) is WAY out of the question.....

I'd love to join you, but for now I'll continue to join you 'in spirit' via the forum posts.... one day I'll meet you all in 'real life'....

ONE MONTH TO GO !

:D :D :D :D :-D

ONE MONTH TO GO ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Well, we have just scoured the threads on the various places we posted and we have a good idea of numbers and it is looking like a good crowd already with still a month to go !

The list so far is a little like this . . . .

James
easy_as_
Wamadeus
Wam In Bed
Big Dave + 1 or 2
London Wammer
Driversoft
Craighca and girlfriend
Sploshman
Dids
Messy Mercedes
Noise
Gungeguy
the_stig
Peter Thomas

with two possibles . . . . DungeonMasterOne and noelfun, this could be our largest meet yet !

We will miss 123Andy and Phantom, of course :( :( . . . . . . . . . and we won't be able to meet Saucy, Wetimer or Snake for the first time either
as they have said they can't make it. :( :(
Still, there is always next time so we look forward to seeing you then, instead.

There are still a few names that haven't posted that we have spoken to who may still yet arrive. We will wait until they post or let us announce them before we add them in on the list.

:-D

LOL ! Cede, I think the black ones will be best, as red will stand out way too much !
After all, it is a low-key dress code !
:-D :P :o  . . . . LOL !

Craighca, the_stig, Peter Thomas, DungeonMasterOne and hopefully noelfun - it's great to see new names on the thread,
we hope you enjoy the night and want to come back again to the next one.

Let's see how many more can come along, there are always a few people who don't post to say they will, which is cool. If that is you ( ! ), then, we hope to see you there !
