1. go to google.com
2. click on maps
3. click 'get directions' (near the top of the page)
4. enter London as the start address
5. enter New York as the end address
6. click the get directions button
7. check out item 31 in the directions!

And if you use Google Earth to zoom on in the Google headquarters buildings, take a look at their swimming pool - another little 'easter egg' or joke there too.

There's a place in America called 'Shire' (I think it's in Orange County, California) and a place in Devon, UK called Mordor.

If you search them on Google Map's route finder, you'll see it'll take the average hobbit 31 days and 6 hours to get from the Shire to Mordor (provided they can swim the atlantic).
