Hi! I've had an idea and wondered what others think! As others who have met the man will know Bill is a very articulate and funny man (no I don't want anything!). I know that over the years of doing Splosh! he's had lots of expreiences and as a result has lots of stories to tell, some funny and some insightful. I've been lucky to have the benefit of hearing some of these first hand. I wondered this: supposing Bill had time (which may not be the case) to record some of these stories wouldn't it be great if there was a page on the site where you could read them? Who knows there may eventually be enough for a proper book! I personally think its a story worth telling and as Bill is a writer after all it would be an entertaining read, he does turn a good phrase! What do people think? I can see movie rights, publishing deals etc looming!!!!

I for one think it would be a great idea - and I'm sure Bill wouldn't need much prompting to wax lyrical on his vast sploshing experiences!!

Better still, why not come out with a book! I mean an actual book you'd buy it Borders. Of course, it would have to be illustrated with lots of photos of WAMed girls--especially your wife!

Gosh, how flattering!
(blushes, hides behind vat of treacle and other DD-like phrases!)
Yes, I have been known to bore the arse off anyone mad enough to buy me beer, and in 17 years there have been hundreds of stories.
The new Splosh! blog (coming soon!) is intended to give us an excuse to recount funny stories of what we are up to at the moment, and maybe an excuse to hark back to the old days, as well as being a rolling news service.
Perhaps I should do a show - An Evening with Bill Shipton (produced by WAM's answer to Cameron Mackintosh, Princess Clare) with live acts by Dolly - and take it on the road!
Certainly, questions like the "TV appearances" one do remind me how much stuff we have done (and how much fun we've had). So expect more of that stuff if you can stand it!
As for a book - nobody bought the last one (Mucky Tales), so God knows who'd want one of me rambling on. Wait for the autobiography! Talking of which if there are any publishers out there with huge advances burning in their pockets....you know where to call!

If I knew about your MUCKY TALES book, I'd have bought a copy! Could I maybe contribute some sploshy stories?

If you venture away from the forum into the scary bit of the site where you have to pay money for things, you will find a section labelled Book and Magazines. Rather unsurprisingly it can be found there. It's £8 I think.

I'd have no problem with coming along and doing live acts, get Mouse along too!
I must say this is a rather sycophantic thread, and probably made Mr Shipton blush rather a bit.

Claire has jst reminded me of a story and I'm sure it came from Bill (stop here if I am wrong?) We where at London and for some reason we where talking about Razzle, I think I commented on the fact that Linzy Dawn Mc had been on site over the road from us doing some topless stuff.
The lads on site where reading a copy of razzle and where commenting on Bendy Wendy!!! to wich Bill came out with the fact that she wasn't Wendy at all, and he had written all the smutty stuff for that months issue.
I'm sure this happend while having a brew.....

Don't think he'll mind me saying but he wrote most of Razzle in the early 90s. He was indeed Bendy Wendy, Cock Thirty Kirsty, dodgy sex expert Dr Deforest Hill (he was living in Forest Hill then) amongst others (I can't remember them all but he can) and wrote all the romps which is why they were so messy then!
No, he hasn't kept them all!

oh no you've set me off

I remember one romp with loads of custard and ice cream in it and all the women wearing teddy suits well messy and horny.
A friend of mine who we use to call Doctor Fondle (due to the daft stuff we did on stage) was quite a mastermind pawn mags, could have been a Bill in waiting.

We can vouch for at least one copy that you sold. Surely there was another sold to someone somewhere?
