We've now got the PDF file from Tiswas Reunited's designer - the guy who made all the pies used on the show (all two of 'em, ho ho.... er, that's satire).

Now the actual brand of shaving foam and unique methods that went into making Tiswas pies (yes, even from the show's heyday 25 years ago) can be revealed.

You have to search hard. There seems to be some price fixing going on - everyones sells it at £1.49 a can. However, there are some online sellers who sell for less, and I have bought in bulk for under £1 a can in the past.

In our local "Lifestyle" store they sell a shaving foam called "Sabre" 99p for 500ml which I use for my pies never had any problems with it stinging my eyes.

I've never seen Erasmic shaving foam, much less used it, so instead tend to use Asda own sensitive (not smart price) - I've never had problems with it stinging, it's lovely and thick, comes in generous sized cans for about a quid, you can leave it all day without it collapsing into a sad pile of dry residue (as is often the case with lesser foams) and it mixes up well into buckets of slosh too.

We use Sabre for GSH simply cos you can get it in our local Cash & Carry in packs of 12 that work out at about 40p per can -handy when you go through as much as Gilly does! However we have a batch of 12 which are either faulty cans or rubbish foam and not fluffing up properly at all.

Normally Sabre doesn't sting, can be left quite a while, and makes excellent slosh though we prefer to dump it on people by the bucketful rather than pour, so we don't water it down.

I'm looking into doing a one-off Tiswas theme night at my local pub, so I too would love to know where you can get Erasmic foam from (which I've never heard of before, but then, I don't use shaving foam).

I've seen Erasmic foam on the web, but is there a mainstream supermarket that sells it?

Tried Peter's flans tonight they are pretty good I mixed some Sabre shacing foam with food colouring, then let it stood for an hour. I made one green and one blue. Pretty cool, had a great time throwing flans about.

Quick hint if using food colouring cover the floor in plastic as it could stain. As I just found out.

Erasmic is erratic, distribution-wise. The places we've found it have been Pound Shops (and Cash and Carries) rather than the main supermarkets which are now into gel. I don't use gel cos I have so much foam at home!!

Glad you trid the recipe, Andy. And yes, food colouring gets everywhere.

PS It is better than ordinary foams but (at the risk of having Clown Julie kill me by breast suffocation) not worth travelling miles for compared to Sabre etc.

PPS I await an angry response but actually quite hope for the breast suffocation.
