Holi

Postby dougiezerts » 27 Apr 2007, 00:12

Have any of you ever heard of an Indian festival called Holi? People cover each other with colored powder and water, at it!
Today, I was in an Indian market, and I picked up some cheap ($3 each) Bollywood videos. One of them has a very nice Holi dance scene. In it, the beautiful leading actress gets very red!

What with that and the frequent bathing in saris and rain dances, Bollywood has quite a lot of sploshy content.

They sure do! No mud, though (at least as far as I've seen).

Here's a picture from Wikipedia showing a young lady taking part in Holi.

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to put it up as an attachment.

Wow, that's nice! I wish it was a full body shot, though.

It seems in the American "version" mud is more common, or at least all the water-htrowing leads to mud puddles some people eventually fall/play in.
