OK, So how is your Christmas going?

Postby BillShipton » 28 Dec 2006, 00:59

Hi

I hope you are having a great time this holiday. We've had our share of ups and downs here....

1) The weekend before Christmas Hayley was down BUT we spent the entire time removing spam from the site. We reckon we took off over 100 spam posts from that "Britney sucks dogs cocks.com" guy alone. As a result we didn't have time to pour green custard over one another like Miss Stockings and we were both pretty ratty.

2) When we did go out, we bumped into the fat tosser who was supposed to have supplied our teeshirts four days earlier. Instead of apologising he handed me a cheque for my deposit and said he couldn't do them after all - despite having told us for four weeks that he could. Not only that, the banks were now shut for four days. "We are still friends?" he asks. "No, we fucking aren't, you twat!" I replied festively.

3) ``Christmas morning Hayley went off to see her mates in London and I went to my parents. My mum and dad live a very frugal life on healthy food so the meal consists entirely of beige food and sprouts that have been breathed on by steam but no more. As a Crohns sufferer this means that I spend the rest of the days farting and shitting continually while they fall asleep in front of endless editions of "Deal or No Deal". When the crapping dies down sufficiently to go home, the bloody car won't start! My mum is delighted suggesting I stay the night. "NO!" I reply rather too loudly. Eventually a kind neighbour starts the car with his jumpleads and I get home for more wind and poo.

4) As a result I don't get to sleep till 5am and have to go back to my parents at teatime having had about three hours sleep and feeling like shit. It should be pointed out that my parents don't drink, so in the two days over Christmas I had exactly one glass of scotch and two glasses of champagne (which I brought myself). But at least the crapping had stopped.

5) Things begin to improve. The bubble and squeak didn't kick the wind off too badly and the car started okay. Best of all, Hayley's devious new way of banning spammers seems to have prevented the Britney Bastard posting for a while. Either that or he is holding a WW1 style truce. Oh well, I thought, at least now I can go home and really enjoy Christmas...

6) I get home to find an email saying that our techy guy on GSH is going to Spain on Friday without any notice so needs the next two films edited in the next 48 hours!! So that's what I'm doing now.

7) Never mind Hayley will be back for the weekend and New Year is looking like fun. Sorry there will now be a long delay for the teeshirts but without tempting fate too much, we do seem to have cut down on the spam (and I have stoppped blowing off!).

Hope it is going better for you guys.

Sorry to hear that Bill, sounds like you and Hayley had a rough one :(

Mines been mostly good, spent a lot of Christmas day either with my brother or my girlfriends family (my parents live upcountry). It was mostly good fun.

The downside to all this happiness is that my Grandad, who was recently recovering from lung cancer, is back in hospital...and the doctors don't think he'll live until New Years. So...yeh, a bit of a blow.

By the way, whats GSH?

I'm sorry to hear about your Christmas Bill and i hope that you and Hayley have garnered some moments of pleasure in between all the negative stuff.

I've been on my own all through Christmas and so while i've not had to deal with anything similar to what you described, i have had some spells of feeling lonely. Still I try to stay happy and have fun and I hope everyone else on here is having a good time or as good a time as they can. Hope maybe some of us can have that chat evening on here as discussed in another thread.

Reading my post again it does sound like a lot of wingeing over nothing. Sorry. Just felt like a moan. Also I thought it would give others who had a worse time an excuse to have a gripe as well. Heard from a couple privately already.

I am sorry to hear of anyone in ill health so even more sorry about yur Christmas Athrun. By the way GSH is Gilly's Silly House (www.gillysillyhouse.com), our other endeavour.

As for lonliness, I know sometime in the future, Christmas will be a lot more lonely than the one I currently moan about, but it's a lot less stressful that way. I hope some of the stuff here and at GSH has been keeping you amused. I could play the Clown Julie game for hours! We shall certainly be around on Saturday night for chatting on the forum and hope some of you will be able to make it as well.

Meanwhile look after yourselves

I had a strange one, got woke xmas day to hear all the neighbours dogs barking went out to find that Simply Fresh (one of our main employers) was on fire!!! this then burnt all day covering all Tydelsley in smoke and plastic. The fire brigade where running round with loud halers telling everybody to keep their doors and windows closed.

The building went up that quick, they had to turn the water off in some parts of Astley to divert to the fire brigade, who could not pump quick enough due to the council not putting in a mains water line into the ind est, so some people had no water for xmas day and some of boxing day.

Thank god the building was closed the only day of the year, that their is not a shift on, their was no loss of life.

So we had Diane and her friends round to my mum and dads to get them away from it.

4 days later (today) they are still damping the building down.

regards

Andy

Sorry to hear about your 'shit' Christmas Bill...

Ours wasn't too bad, personally with Christmas I can take it or leave it... :?

We had my folks round for dinner and tea Christmas day, then went over to them for tea on boxing day... best part about that was fantasizing about what I could have done with the chocolate trifle... :D

Eeep - sorry to hear about all those problems! But yes, the spammage appears to be in decline.

Had quite a quiet holiday period - celebrated Midwinter's Night on the 21st/22nd, spent most of the 4 day weekend relaxing, though had a club to run on Xmas eve, and went for a ride on two of the local preserved railways on Boxing Day.

We were originally supposed to do a shoot on Xmas Eve but a couple of the girls couldn't make it (wolves on the road to the Hall, again!) so that got postponed, and it seems the one scheduled for Sat coming might be too unless somone wants to do a solo set.

I take it this means the t-shirts will be delayed for a bit? Just waiting for finances to settle, and my order will be on its way.

Hi

Yes, hold off on ordering the teeshirts cos the Fat Shit from 1066.co.uk has let us down.

Hmmm had a not so bad xmas.

Spend it with my brother, my lil niece (for the first time) and her mum.

We went down to my Aunty's in Essex for dinner (saved me cooking it again) and it was nice but i dunno if it's just me, BUT i didn't really didn't have the xmas mood in me this year as much as i tried to (dunno if it's just the case that i'm just coming out of my young kiddie and teen days when i used to love xmas 100% now that i'm getting older).

Went out clubbing on Boxing Day and still felt the same as well (saying that i have spoken to a lot of ppl about this and they have felt the same way).

Think it might have to do with the fact that i think everyone is getting a bit miffed with the hype over xmas now (and about bloody time too!!). Plus it leaves you well skint (esp. when you have bills to pay as well).

Minus that tho i've had a good time and got everything i wanted too :).

Yesterday went to go down Worksop for a bit of shopping, tyre was flat on car, then found they couldnt repair it as it was too close to sidewall, another £70 spent could have done without.

Got about 500 emails to go thru so if anyone has sent one an hasnt got a reply "Sorry" u will eventually.

Bright spot on horizon though, goin back to work after New year which means the pics will start up again with Cede and her mates.Roll on the warmer weather :D :D

Anyways Happy New Year to all and Many Many Many thanks to Bill an Hayley for this madhouse of a forum

Dids

ps Bill just a question, if u have done all the editing of the pics/video,why do u need a techie bloke? the uploading onto the server etc is the easy bit.
I love a messy girl
