Private Message

Postby messyterry » 18 Dec 2006, 15:23

I've just received an email to inform me that someone has left me a Private Message, but each time I check my account it says the 'inbox' is empty.

Would the person who sent the PM kindly please email it to me at tnmmc@hotmail.co.uk, .... at least I'll definitely get it then.

Thanking you in advance,

Terry

I've just had the same problem. I replied to the last message in my inbox ages ago.

Is there a system fault going on?

Sorry I've not been around much recently - far too many things going on.

Thanks C W,

At least I know now I'm not alone, I think there must be a glitch in the system somewhere. I always reply to any Private Message as soon as I can then delete them, so I know exactly what I've answered.

It may be spam, as I just got junk from someone and last night I saw ad postings on here for some Britney Spears porn thing. Hopefully its absence from the inbox means the bosses here are taking care of the issue. Or at least wamming it to pieces and flogging it while wearing a catsuit. :P

I haven't got one but we are being spammed A LOT at the moment.

We will be revamping the forum in the New Year which may solve some of the problems. In the meantime, bear with us.

I too have had this message. Perhaps someone would like to leave some proper messages as I was all excited at the thought of someone actually wanting to speak, then so dissappointed to find nothing there.

I didn't get any non-existent PM (just one pm from a young lady I've never heard of, asking me to be pals ... which I'm a little suspicious of) ... but it's great to hear the forum will be revamped next year.

Will this include the ability to post pictures directly to the forum ourselves, like on 'the other side'?

Two other (non-wam) forums I regularly visit have been getting spammed to hell recently (more than the Splosh forum). But a third seems to have had no spam at all. I wonder why some get hit and others don't.

Anyway - I'm sure the new-improved forum will be BULLETPROOF!!!

We are being spammed day and night but Dolly, Bill and I try to get to it before too many of you see it (not always successfully).

We know one thing we can do to cut it down but not sure it will work completly.

Unfortunately that's the nature of spam - whatever you do to prevent it, it's never long before they find a way around it ... it's the same with emails.

Yes, it looks as if most of us got one, I did but I'm used to getting a lot of Email spam which I am convinced is due to people targetting members of this forum.

it is the spammer, and then when the person in question is deleted of blocked the message will also disappear. Sorry if it's been troubling you, but this is what it is.

If you do get a pm from a spammer, dont click any of the links in it. But i'm sure you know that :)

We wouldnt want you to get a virus so near to Christmas.

Oh and phantom, is the girl called Amberlyn? I was chatting on her Yahoo messenger last night, seems pretty real to me.

I'll be on spam patrol late tonight :D

I got an email saying I had a new PM too, but I havent had one for a few weeks. I think the system may have just caught up with a backlog of emails or something.
