Testing on this pic thing!

If this works a pic of the fountains in the Peace Gardens in the central of Sheffield should come up ...there is also one in Manchester ..

Now on several occurances in summer passing it there were people running through the jets in jeans, tshirts, skirts (but never had me camera at hand & have to be careful as a young kids also in there) .and a lot of kids in swimming cossies .. unlike Manchester, the Sheffield ones don't appear to get turned off of people start messing about in them ... the peak jets must be 10-15ft high !

I recognised that fountain even before I read the caption! There's something inviting about fountains that don't have a proper edge to them. I'd have to be really drunk to jump over a wall into a fountain, but in the Peace Gardens you can just pretend that you weren't really looking where you were walking. :D

At the risk of revealing my roots, my I say "Bring back the hole in the road!"

So wish they'd do somthing like that down our way.

Have jumped in a few rivers (and the sea, of course) but fountains are nearly virgin territory (apart from the small one near Bill's place).

It's about 15-20 miles away ....but if your in Worksop and nearby the Sheffield trip is worth it with 3 or 4 places you might find outfits, possibly even a bit cheaper than daaarn Saaaarth .... also some damn good boozers!!!!!!

one of mt friends who is severly disabled and is in a wheelchair/buggy type thing dubbed them "The Fountains Of Spaff" ... he got the two girls with him when he last visted to drag him through it so they all got soaked .....

As I was still sobering up from the club the night before missed all the fun!

One thing will say on these fountains it is basically in the centre of Sheffield city centre ... when it is hot a lot of kids run through the water to cool down, so might be wise to be careful with doing photography so you don't get accused of being a paedo ... sad fact in this modern world ...

And as the jets vary in height and drop down then spurt, quiet often positioning could be the trick as well for a "treat" :o

Yep their is one in Manchester in Piccadilly Gardens, sometimes get office workers going in their Blouses and Skirts if the weather is hot enough. It is good laugh too see it, may shoot their next summer. Could be a right giggle.

Now that's what I call refreshing!

The drought put paid to all the "water features" down here this summer (they got switched off).

How about a sponsored fountain run for charity next summer?

I think you might die! Especially in those short skirts Laura wears!

I'm sorry I'm saving outdoor stuff till the summer cos I'm a feeble girl!

Hayley

PS I think the charity idea is a good one though
