Having stired my brain from its usual slumber, I vaguely remember from a science lesson at school something about an object keeping the same mass when it changed charataristics.
What i think this means is that 1KG (ie 1000g) of ice when melted will make 1 litle (1000ml) of water.
If this is correct (and i am not just talking bollocks) you would need 5.525 chocolate bars to make 1 litre of liquid choclate if you multiply this by 1048 (the number of litres your pool holds) you will need 5790 chocolate bars to fill it.
And if that's right I should be on Countdown!!! (preverably filling Carol Vorderman's knickers with custard)

Very interesting thread this.
It's brought out all the egg-heads who lurk here.
May I throw a question their way?
All this water and custard will weigh an aweful lot - so I hope the floor-boards are strong and the 'event' takes place down-stairs!
Anyway - how much will the pool weigh when 'full'
I know it won't be full to the brim - but lets say half way-ish.

Ta very muchly.

Calling all mathematical wam einsteins!!!
these answers on a postcard please:
Exactly how many litres of custard would fit in an 8ftx8ft circle 2.5ft deep?
How much does shaving foam expand and therefore how many cans would be required to fill the pool?
How many x181g bars of dairy milk bubbly chocolate to fill it?
if anyone can come up with those answers I will 1) faint and 2) post another pic
