LoL! Well, you could always put it forward to the Children in Need team as a suggestion! :-) Actually if she's proud of her dad (and she has every right to be) then she might just go for it to resurrect his good name. You could even suggest it would be educational for the kids in that respect, as anyone under about 30 doesn't seem to have even heard of Flanders & Swann these days!

Perhaps not :( but it does conjure up a wonderful mental picture

Just to let you know, I have put up a bit about my trip to Warrington on the blog (www.splosh.co.uk/blog). It really was a very enjoyable weekend. Thanks to Claymore and the Pup for organising it.

Brilliant blog, Bill - Love the wit!

Incidentally, I noticed that there is a Premier Inn but it's right by the junction of the A49 and M62, about 2 miles out of the town centre, which makes it a bit awkward on foot! Incidentally, if you can remember the name of the cafe that did the Full English, I'll add it into the description for next time.

Ta.

I never found out the name of the cafe as I pre-ordered the tiny Travelodge brekkie before I arrived (big mistake as explained in the blog). But reception know and positively recommend it!

Oh right, ok, ta. I'll just tell them to ask for the recommendation when they book in.

A bit off topic I got caught out at the Nuneaton Travelodge (no prizes for guesses who I was visiting :D ); I had a lovely evening meal in an 'on site' restaurant about 5 yards from reception. The following morning I went looking for breakfast at the same place but found it locked. Back to reception, only to find it was a completely separate company and there was nothing to eat in the immediate vicinity. Back to the car and to the A5 where there is a very welcoming hotel called 'The Longshoot' where they provided a very adequate breakfast even for a casual 'off the street' non-resident! In short, if you ever find yourself visiting that area (there is a major sploshing attraction nearby :D ), use 'The Longshoot Motel', not the travelodge!
