Easy Access North-west Meet (Warrington), Sat 17th Oct. 2009

Chat, flirt and fantasise about everything wet and messy

Well it is traditional on these occasions to show photos of the pub and the jolly crowd chatting inside. Sadly I can only provide one of these.

This is the Blue Bell - very easy staggering distance to the hotel as Ghost Rider and I can testify. It's very pleasant and, as you can see, has a convenient fountain outside. However there is a warning in the pub that anyone who takes their drinks and stands "anywhere near the fountain" will have them taken away! I can't imagine what might have happened in the past, can you?

Unfortunately (though I respect their right to privacy blahdeblah...) it seems gritty northerners are too camera-shy to appear here (for any IC members reading this, that was a joke not an insult). But to prove that there were people there, that they ate and drank (including Guinness), here's a picture of the tables they sat at instead.

I am sorry that being trapped (pinned in by the furniture) at one end of the table I did not get to chat as much as I would have liked to the people at the other end. I wasn't being deliberately unfriendly. Perhaps munches should have a rule that everyone has to change seat every 10 mins. It wasn't my event but I will make sure I move around more next time (though if you heard my inane line in conversation you might hate that even more!).

Oooh look - not one but two OS maps in the picture! (They were the feature that enabled people to identify this as the Splunch group.)

I have to say that it was quite funny when Bill asked that anyone not wanting to be in the picture go behind the camera and pretty much everyone got up and stood behind him. That in itself would have made a good pic....oh, no hang on a minute ... LoL.

Whilst nobody could ever accuse you of being shy, Richard, the London meet definitely used to be (remember the smiley faces photoshopped onto the picture?). I fully understand people who haven't been before (as many hadn't) wanting to hide though when they include people who have pictures on their profiles dressed up, undressed or taking part in BDSM activities I find it surprising when they won't be seen sitting drinking in a pub.

Anyhooooo...I am sure in time they will lighten up.

Hello all

Yes, at last I have joined the forum, although it turns out I joined it a while ago and had forgotten... hmmm. Anyway. I wanted to say a huge thank you to Claymore for a truly enjoyable afternoon, which went far too quickly. It was a great privilege to meet you all, and I'm so glad myself and Gentleman Bastard went along. I hope I'll get the chance to be on the forum fairly often, although I can't promise anything! Sooooo pleased I've met you all!

Great to have you here Carmen. I guess your avatar must be from the exploits you mentioned at the meet? Hope to catch the two of you again.

Yes indeed - welcome to the mad world of the Splosh! Forum, Carmen and thanks for the kind words! 8)

Good to see you and GB the other day and delighted to hear that you'll be joining us again (and for the meal) in 6 months.

Diary time! 3rd Sat in April (17th, I think), same place, same time. See you all there! :-)

Does anyone have a 2010 diary yet? Anyway...

Carmen and Mr Bastard are indeed a delightful couple and welcome to our forum any time. And do let us know any other clubs that have showers...Splosh! will make it onto the fetish scene live some day!

Bye the way, Bill, the conversation moved on while we were talking about Flanders & Swann and I forgot to ask whether you'd seen the wonderful spoofs on the Armstrong & Miller show? The first episode of the new series (last week) is no longer available on iPlayer as there's a new episode tonight but, amusingly, it featured test card C again (another mad topic of discussion round our table!), which would have been the correct one for the period BUT they'd stretched it to 16:9, making the central circle elliptical! (This is what happens when you have "12-year olds" (to quote Ed Reardon) making programmes without understanding the technical issues!)

If you haven't seen them (and it's an uncannily accurate parody of, in this case, "A Song of Patriotic Prejudice"), try this.

Like you, I haven't seen the new series (I was in Warrington!) but have seen the Flanders and Swann parody in the previous series. It is very good though I hear Michael Flanders' daughter is less happy.

Oh yes, so you were! :-) I actually saw it the other night - it was repeated on BBC4, I think, late one evening. I should imagine that she's not too happy with it, though I have to say it is very funny.

What are the chances of the BBC's Chief Economics Editor singing "Mud, mud, glorious mud" in a pool of clay for Children in Need? Thought not.
