What's In A Name...

Postby wast66 » 18 Jul 2006, 11:14

I like the ambiguous nature of my ID. It's actually derived from an embarassing mis-spelling of my name while at school that has come back to haunt me throughout my adult life.

However, it is sufficiently vague to allow me to be as open as I want about this scene and what it means to me.

As a tranny we tend to go through multiple rebirths as part of our purging cycles - other trannys will know exactly what I mean - exhaltation, guilt, destroy, start over

Repeat process - Again and again.

Consequently over many years I have been also known as Jane Roberts, Katie, SuzieQ - most of these have been nicked off real girls I fancied the pants off (and dresses, shoes etc)

Fortunately my purges ended in 1985 and KatieJane was reborn from the ashes (quite literally) as I am very comfortable with who I am and what I like to do as a special hobby now

SuzieQ was invented for her (god knows why!) to front a Geocities site I once had (SuzieQs Tranny Fantasyland) after buying some wigs from a shop called Suzys !

So I am just KatieJane and katieessex gives an idea of my geographical location

Boring but true

Mine was a bit of a quandry to start with.

I wanted it to be a pun or play on words or something that realated to a particular favourite aspect of slapstick.
Also I wanted an element of mysterry, so I left a word out, to make people guess and it is always nice in a chat room when they do !

I decided on the well known phrase ' easy as . . . '

It's amazing how many phrases start with ' easy as '.
I hadn't noticed so much before. For example :-' Falling off a log ', ' Sunday Morning ' and if you are a Jacksons fan ' 123 ' and ' ABC ' plus no doubt contless others.

Anyway, it all boiled down to one thing. Pie.
Although I don't suggest you boil pie ???? Hayley, maybe you can back me up on this in your ' Hints ' column !!!!!

That is the story of easy_as_ ( pie ).

Nothing very much to do with Pi, which is an Anciet Greek equation to determine the circumference of a tart or something.

. . . sorry rambling now ! Still hungover or inebriated from last night ( Friday ), where I was demonstrating a lesser known alias given to me by Hayley and GS . . . . . .
. . . . . to give you a clue, I was feeling rumbly in my tumbly earlier ! LOL

Not feeling cool so much as avoiding any bright light !
8) 8) 8)
Who ate all the pies ? What a waste of pie !

I wonder why it is necessary to hide behind usernames; after all, anybody reading this forum must be interested in wam so if they recognise anyone posting here and get in touch, surely that is a bonus. Possibly a new friend and sploshing partner might be found, which might lead to a whole new circle of sploshers.

I first became aware of this when I 'came out' as a naturist and was surprised how many people I found who had been scared to admit their own liking for social nudity until I had 'opened the door' for them.

As to my own use of a pseudonym; I first coined the name Sotonude when I accessed an internet site which asked for a username as well as a real name and I have used it ever since as a way to separate my wam interests from my other activities. My real name is Richard and my surname is available to anyone who asks. (Bill knows it already through correspondence about DVDs).

Richard.

In some respects I agree with you, it does depend on how confident you are in the first place.
Then there is the matter of how many ' Richards ' there might already be, if others feel that open, so do you then add a number,
an initial from your surname or an adjective with your name, for example ( if you will forgive me using yours ) you might have decided upon, ' Stitchless Rich ' .

Others however would have maybe just gone with ' Stitchless '.

Sign-on names can add an element of extra description about the member, so you know that in the Splosh world some people prefer pies, gunge or wetlook withuot having to ask.
It can be a chance to display humour or fun through a well thought out play on words. So that you see a glimpse of a personality before you chat to them, straight away.
It can be an advert so to speak.

Also it gives an element of mystery. For good or for bad some people can't be seen on a fetish forum whether it is a Sploshing fetish or otherwise
and with enough information that comes from people in the various threads, a real name might easiliy identify someone.

I am more open in real-life when I can judge someone better. Obviously you can give your real name out then,
I don't suppose anybody calls themselves Tarquin in real-life ( eg. at the London Meets ) if there real name is Eric for example ! Even then, it is down to the individual.

Well, I am sure I have rambled on for long enough,

easy_as_ ( Tarquin )

PS - I just thought . . . actually Tarquin is quite wam . . . Tar Queen. ***Salutes the sub-conscious mind !***

Easy As writes...

"It can be a chance to display humour or fun through a well thought out play on words. So that you see a glimpse of a personality before you chat to them, straight away. "

So that'll be why my hilarious username is...err...Bill Shipton then.

Thanks though for sorting out the "Easy As" question (you were one of the people who came to mind when Hayley posed the question). She had suggested the "Easy As Pie" solution but being contrary I always believed the cliche was "Nice as Pie". But I'm willing to admit that I was wrong. Besides "Nice As" does sound a bit camp.

It is interesting, because I too wondered what was more frequently said, or used in the common vernacular. I had to check in the dictionary myself, I have a feeling it is more of an US phrase these days. ' Nice As Pie ' isn't even in the OED, shome mishshtake shurely !

To clear up, easy as pie : means simply, very easy.

Nice as pie, as I understand it, means a situation went swimmingly,
a similar phrase would be ' sweet as a nut ' .
Or a person did just as was expected of them, sometimes begrudgingly
" she was nice as pie ".
It can even mean someone is a genuinely nice person, used when to allay anothers fears or apprehension about meeting that person.

That is only my definition, I guess it holds weight though. It seems right !

Besides "Nice As" does sound a bit camp.

Yes, just a little !

BTW, I think your names suits you. I could imagine any other appellation !
