I shall be making the effort to come down from the N.W. with a couple of female clubbin mates. I'll try and bring down a few extra flan bases and some ready made pie filling as extras. See you all there :D

Brilliant stuff, from your avatar, you look like you're well up for a spell in the Cage!

They'll be at home here, the pub is easily the liveliest in town on a Sunday night (or any other night).

Okey dokey, try and keep any pie-flinging 'til after the 8pm start time...

We heard that one guy wanted to have a pie-fight in the afternoon with his own supplies, but still, that's like scoffing down 3 meals before an all-you-can-eat competition! Told him to wait... There'll be folk in the beer garden (the only place you can get messy) who be clearing the place sharpish at 8, as they don't wanna get mucky!

Need some paint!...

Just been down the Horseshoe to check on preparations. There is now 5kg of Natrosol (gunge) powder there. With 6kg of powder paint.

To put this in perspective, the 2kg of Natrosol powder that was used for last year's event didn't run out. It gave us two Cage gungings, a bucket tipped over me, a bucket tipped over the Compost Corner flower, and later on, a Cage gunging for Beholder and a Cage gunging for some guy's birthday. And there's still some of THAT left!

There is one thing lacking - the paint won't match the amount of Natrosol, so unless we get more paint powder (or children's soluble paint goo), we'll have very transparent gunge - something I'm trying to avoid.

If anyone can turn up with some non-toxic water-soluble paint to donate, I would be very pleased indeed!

Oh, did I mention we have 50 brand new plastic buckets? 50... This is going to be carnage! Never mind the pies, I think we can get everyone gunged, and then some!

Plenty of pies.

Last year we got 300 paper plates for pies. This year, its... 1,000. Yes, we're aiming to make last year's event look like a picnic in the park.

Okay weather

There is to be some rain during the day according to Sky News and BBC weather. Will be light drizzle in the 6pm-9pm slot. Should all be clear by 9pm at least.

I have to be there from 11am

I've just been told I'm needed at the pub from 11am Sunday in order to start preparing the event!

Volunteers to help mix gunge and/or rewrite the script are always welcome!

sounds fantastic peter, I would help but unfortunately I am at a mud meet and also being filmed rolling about and sinking in mud for most of that day - its going to be a mad dash to get cleaned up and over to the pub in time!

sounds like a spectacular job is being done though, keep up the good work!! cant wait to be there! and yes i am MORE than up for a spell in the cage and as many pies as anyone cares to lob at me, bring it on!

Well, fair enough then! Getting covered in muck, cleaning up, then travelling many miles to be covered in muck again! You're dedicated to the cause!

Make yourself known to me, and I'll wrangle you a position in one of the gunge-based games we're doing.

Well, the bulk of the pies will only be thrown by the Phantoms and presenters for most of the show. But at the end, it's a massive free-for-all. I'm so chuffed the pub management spent more money on this year, they are stars - I'm aiming for an audience of 200, and I think we can cover everyone in pies AND gunge for all the stuff we have!

Kidding - just ask for Peter and someone'll point him out. Knowing him, may well be wearing his blue Tiswas Reunited tshirt...

That is me in my avatar! The full video of it is on my YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/prodge

I'm not sure what I'll be wearing on the day, but just ask a member of bar staff where I am, and they'll point you in the right direction.

Candy, we have just written a sketch especially for you. We'd like you to make yourself known when you reach the pub, I'll need to pluck you out of the audience for this sketch. It results in you being gunged, naturally.

I am still shocked at the amount of gunge we eventually got! I have never seen anything like it!

I died on my arse in the first three items. I could blame the raindrops on my script, the water shorting the mics... but hey, once I put down the script and started doing it from memory, it flowed better. I really shouldn't be reading things off the script, it doesn't work...

One of those items that did work, was the sketch with me and Candy. And then the games... the games.. and the games!

And the free-for-all is the best bit. Normally supposed to be the bit on the end where we use up the leftover crap, this lasted just as long as the games and sketches... Well, the amount of gunge buckets still being in double figures, we did Tiswas proud by having almost every single person gunged. Seemed like there were more gungings than pieings!

The floor in the beer garden was literally swimming in gunge. At one point, it was running off the end steps, resembling that scene in Ghostbusters 2!

Despite the massive clean-up work involved (ironically quicker than last year's for some odd reason), it's been much appreciated and we COULD have another one next year!

As an attendee, and first time attendent of the 'shoe (as it is affectionately known by the locals), I was blown away. And, in a Partridge moment, I got really annoyed with the Wellingborough one way system!

The night was so slick and I must admit, Norman Collier did an really good job of compering...

Dear old Candy , after the magic sketch, decided to come for an embrace and preceded to coat me in goo. I was covered, so ho hum, what the hell!

The phantom(s) , but the main phantom was very very devious (and looked rather cute, if I may be so bold, and in the ensuing free for all, I made sure I got her good with a bucket of gunge! She felt victimised, I said she needed a better union!

In the free for all that concluded the night, many people who were clean were soon setup for a bucket or two. One one gentleman was accosted by a young lass, who shouted give me a bucket! She did recieve a bucket to pour over the clean man, but received the end of my bucket too... Well she did ask for it.

Trudging back to the car park whilst covered in foam and gunge, some strange looks, including a bemused kebab salesman when us lot trudged in with congealed red gunge, and they asked what had happened to us, thinking that we'd been in a fight. Don't think there was ever a Turkish equivalent.

But tip top, good atmsophere, great craic, and big thumbs up for Pete for organising the chaos!

The pub has that effect on people. Their Sunday-to-Thursday ethos is cater for the rock-n-roll culture, then on Friday and Saturday nights they play music for chavs - which subsidises everything else, to be fair.

Think of us who have to live here! We think the town planner is a masochist.

Stop being sarcastic!

Fair comment!

Yeah, I found it ironic that only one of the people on the Splosh table had got messed up. Glad that changed later on!

Indeed, very true.

I think I have you on the video camera doing that. Rory also got her. Thick grey gunge, IIRC.

Yep, protagonists deserve it even more than the victims. Which is probably why I might have been the most gunged person at the end of it.

Exactly the same thing happened to Rory on our Halloween Night last year. I sometimes wonder if Rory is a closet wammer, as he is usually the first to start an impromptu food fight.

Anyway, back on Halloween, Rory found a supply of fake blood, and decided to flick it over my friend, and then over some other girls. And it just became mayhem. It was realistic stuff too. So he walks out of the pub at the end of the night, his face dripping with 'blood', so a whole load of Turkish kebab staff (he lives nearby, so knows them well) looked absolutely astonished and offered to call for an ambulance!

Couldn't have done it without Nick and Debs, and of course, the folk from the TiswasOnline forum who mixed up the gunge for hours beforehand, and those who helped on the script!
