Little and Large

Chat, flirt and fantasise about everything wet and messy

I think that crackerjack had a bit of mess in it once because I once had a crakerjack annual from the 1970s and it showed one of the presenters being pied. Twiswas was a great show fdrom any years ago with tons of mess in it.

Evening all. Sorry about not being round much recently but you know the usual problem .... work gets in the way (and continues to do so).

As far as Little & Large are concerned, "The Burkiss Way" (one of Radio 4's most brilliantly written comedies of about 20 years ago) summed it up with their traditional wit in the form of a spoof BBC1 continuity announcement:
"...and in just a minute here on BBC1, the best of Little & Large, though it may not last that long"!

LOL! Though to be honest it may well have been Cannon and Ball who actually first got me interested in WAM. Some years before I first saw Sally James gunged on TISWAS, I saw a C&B sketch where one of them kept stealing the other's food off his plate. This escalated until eventually the one who'd been doing the stealing was made to stand up and have the contents of both plates (beans, gravy, mash, etc) poured into his trousers.

I think I was about 8 at the time, and still remember this "weird feeling" that I really wanted to have that done to me by someone.

Then of course there was the episode of The Good Life where Felicity Kendal got covered in soot while wearing dungarees. Mmmm! Splat! 8) Anyone know if she ever got actually gunged or soaked on that show (or any other show, come to that)?

She poured a jug of gravy all down her front in a fit of pique when her attempts at having a posh meal with Tom fell flat ("I'm not a lady, I'm a Barbara, and this is what Barbara's look like!"). Tom's reaction - "Now, that's just being silly".

And she sunk up to her knees in mud once wearing wellies and jeans (or maybe dungarees).

Blimey, this HAS turned into a Good Life thread!!

(And yes, Penelope Keith fell over in the mud in yellow oilskins).

Bill

PS The reason that The Burkiss Way was so well written is that it was done by a very young Andrew Marshall and David Renwick who later went on to do Drop the Dead Donkey, Renwick of course also doing One Foor in the Grave and Jonathan Creek (which featured Splosh! etc etc). Unfortunately The Burkiss Way (now on BBC 7 12 noon on Friday) also stars Nigel Rees who I hate!

Sorry! I just love dungarees, overalls, and "non-fashion" jeans as gungewear, both for me and for the ladies. I've a shoot coming up where one of the models will be wearing a blue denim jumpsuit we found in Oxfam's "Retro" shop in Leeds. Looking forward to that one! :D

I don't remember the sinking, sounds great though, ta for the info!

I vaguely remember that, though TBH I prefer the scruffy look to the fancy - given the choice I'd rather see a character like Barbara gunged, she looks like she'd actualy enjoy it and get really into getting covered, while someone snootier would scream and hate what was happening.

So that's the Good Life covered.. does that mean we're moving on to My Hero next?

Felicity Kendall got gunged (not in dungarees!) in a pisstake of Noels House Party by French & Saunders, I seem to recall. It was quite a cruel parody but a good gunging!

I'm glad somebody else likes dungarees and jumpsuits/boiler suits! I used to wear the latter a lot in the 80s and wish they'd come back into fashion again. Denim ones were fab!! Did you see the Sammy-Jane/Gilly film with her in the denim dungarees, btw?

As for this becoming a Good Life thread, I have only one comment:

"Ohhh Tommmmm!"

Hayley

PS Not only is Bill's mind not very deep, it only has one track!

Wow - so I'm not the only one who likes jumpsuits after all! :D Never imagined such illustrious company though. <fx: bows deeply> I'll have to post some sample shots here once we've done our jumpsuit gunging, be interesting to see what people think of it.

I saw the preview shots of the "Greasy Garage" set on the UMD, and your reminder's just sent me back to Gilly's site itself. Think I'll be taking a membership just as soon as this month's wages hit the credit card. I especially like the idea of gunge poured into her dungarees till it runs out of the legs - now that's my idea of a proper gunging! I take it the video is available for download for members?

I don't watch much TV, so didn't know about the French and Saunders parody - was she dressed up, or casual?

Of course the Greasy Garage is available to download for members. Coming soon - downloads for non-members!

I saw the French and Saunders sketch too and as I recall she was wearing a rather nice silk jacket - so formal. Sorry.

Do post your jumpsuit pics. Hayley will be happy!

LOL! Well, OK. I just meant was I missing a download-store somewhere, as opposed to membership. Most of the commercially produced WAM material is a bit too "sexy" for me - not a complaint, and I've nothing against sexyness or nudity, but it just doesn't work for me. The point where the models started to disrobe in Rob Blaine's videos was always where I hit the fast forward button to get to the start of the next scene.

The main reason I got into production in the first place is no-one else was producing quite what I wanted to see. It's been terrific fun and I've met some amazing people.

Will do! The site's still completely locked down for the rebuild, but I might even post some pre-launch shots, I like the atmosphere on this forum.

Cheers!

A Silly House Download Store will be coming soon featuring some of the older GSH material but Greasy Garage is relatively new so it is still in the members area.

Glad you like the forum, your dungeonness.
