With just two weeks before the meet, the list of probables and possibles looks like this: -

Richard (Sotonude)
Aufpet
Janet & Nick
Jonnygunged
Nastygunge
Messy-Jessie (+1?)
Dazuk & Sandra
Dirtydids & Chantelle
Smiley (+1?)
Nina
Pleasepiememistress
Thrillseeker
Capstick
Piemaster
Big Dave
Easy_as_
Straponscott
CustardPie
Sammy-Jane ...
... and me.

Plenty of room for more to join us, and it'd be handy to know who's staying for the meal on Saturday evening.

We'd love to join everyone but we're actually on holiday so we can't make it. Shame, we'd love to see you all! We've been busy bees at the moment - new jobs, extra jobs, bla bla bla - but we'll be around more soon.
Love, Eden

Its looking more and more unlikely that I will be able to make it this time, for a variety of reasons; a house move at home and my fave hotels all full on the Saturday night. I might just be able to manage a quick couple of hours in the afternoon though.

I am having the same problem with hotels. There seems to be a few other events going on the same weekend.
I was thinking of staying at near by Swindon, about an hour away by car or train. Last train 22.30.

There is a good hotel which do triple rooms for £52 (£17.33 each) if we share or twins and doubles for the same money. Would not be so bad if there is a few of us heading back to Swindon after the meet. We could all meet there around noon before hand and then head off to the meet together.

Just a suggestion at the moment.

Good creative thinking there Smiley. Unfortunately Swindon is much more awkward than Bristol to reach by train from Southampton.
However I can get to Bristol around midday and stay til about 6 or 7pm. So I'm sure that will be long enough to make most of you bored witless!

Mike spoke to us once about somewhere called 'The old Piggery' just outside Bristol. Here is the link, if people are looking for somewhere to stay.

Well I had a good time at the meet, seeing old friends (don't tell S-J in case she thinks I regard her as old) and making the acquaintance of new ones.

My big adventure came later, on the train home when I received a call from my partner to say I had lost my wallet on Temple Meads station and it had been picked up on the platform & handed in! Got off train at Trowbridge & returned to Bristol in sweaty panic. Retrieved wallet (cards & cash intact!) - Many thanks to staff who refused any tips.

Finally got home on the last train of the day, at least two hours later than intended.

After an afternoon of total sobriety I needed & drank several HUGE glasses of brandy!

Excellent day, wish i could of stayed over. God,i worked out i must of drunk about 7 pints of cider at the meet, and another two at the station. Like a ploka i missed my last coach home from Oxford, glad the other half come and saved the day and picked me up at Oxford.

A day trip well worth doing.

What an epic day.....

Rocked up to Horts, first there as usual. Blagged our usual chairs, but alongside us where the biggest bunch of whinging "ladies who lunch" who proceeded to moan about everything. I just supped my pint of Doom Bar and got on with it. After said pint worked its way thru the system and a trip to the gents, I ordered another drink and some food only to see some trendy wendys nicked me seat! Never ye mind, as along came Mike and Sammy and we camped out on the small table. As the burgeoning throng turned up, moany ladies and the trendy wendies disappeared and our usual land was liberated! It was great to see faces new and old, apologies if I didn't speak to you, I was mobbed by Lady Jessica of Messica, and had some business to attend to with Big Dave, which ended up with a secret being revealed about Jessie's bete noir....

We broke a new Bristol Splunch record... 20 all in to be told.

Roll on the next one, and hopefully it'll be as good!

Good to see Mike looking well and the others most I've met before but a few new faces too.

Sorry I couldn't stay very long and didn't get to speak to many there but my friend Mike who hates all things messy was starting to feel a little ill listening to people talking about rolling round in mud and custard and in need of a shower. LOL.
