Amazing, a splosher living in Carlisle . I lived in 'digs' off Warwick Road on & off when I first came to live and work in Cumbria!

Oooh! I've just done a bit more digging and it looks like there may be £5 special advance tickets from Virgin Trains. Might be worth popping into the station and ask them about ticket types VZP, VFP or VES, VDS which seem to range from £5-£7.50. They are restricted, limited availability so you may have to be quick and you have to travel on the specific trains on which you've reserved a seat. However, as these aren't being shown on the publicly available websites, it's possible that they're all gone.
