Jonny,
I lived for many years at the furthest extreme of our glorious Empire, right by the wall built by our beloved Emperor Hadrian to keep out the savages. At that time I shared your views about Londinium; but now I have moved closer to the metropolis I have developed a less provincial attitude and now understand the attractions of the place as well as its drawbacks. Try to understand that the civilised world does not end at the Tamar and even Bristol is not in foreign parts (even though the car parks are confusing to those more used to pack horses as transport)

Do the Picts have meets? I don't think I have any woad in stock at present. (But many years ago I did have occasion to sell some 'dragon's blood'!)

I thought I might have got a backlash from our Scottish contingent for the 'savages' comment though.

Bottoms Up!
Can't come to London on a weekday. Looking fwd to Bristol this year though. Any ideas on when it'll be?

I will come along to this. I only missed the last London one because I had to meet a woman from the internet in another pub a few miles away.
