added you Bill!

I agree with the other posters about the target market for these sites

I saw the founder of facebook giving a presentation to corporate investors

He actually said it wsnt a social networking platform but in fact a multi billion dollar marketers dream with all that info about people

Once they get your tastes, you get flooded with junk

My alter ego has his facebook page but with all the bloody ridiculous pop ups, apps and notifications either disabled or not responded to

I find advertising on facebook very creepy. As soon as I changed my relationship status to engaged, all I got were wedding advertisements, lose weight for your wedding, hotels, etc. And when I came to Canada, all I've been getting is Canadian weddings and winter gear. Very clever, but very creepy.

Am I being naive but surely if you ignore all the pop-ups, don't subscribe to 'singles' bollocks and don't play their effing silly games, it is just social networking.

I know one of my friends (a real friend and a Facebook one) who enjoys the games and invites, but I don't have any time for it (literally). Hayley has a page on Tagged and she says that's worse!

I still can't believe he's done this!

I think he's still recovering from the day recently somebody in the pub spotted him smoking his pipe and said he looked like Jack Hargreaves! Call it belated mid-life crisis.

Facebook's legendary, mostly because its full of things that makes simple people like me happy

For example, go to the bottom and set your language to English (Pirate)
