Thank you for the generally supportive comments.
I wasn't comparing Dids private sessions with appearances in professional films, it was purely what triggered off the question in my mind. I am very fllattered by the comparison with Hitchcock (not as a director!). The similarities are increasing as I get fatter and balder! As far a Splosh! parodies of his films are concerned, I did write one called Psoako once. It may still get made!
I am glad you can tolerate my occasional brief appearances, usually out of necessity rather than ego. Of course it would be fun to join in more but I wouldn't expect anyone to pay to see that (occasionally things happen after filming if there's some gunge left over). And I certainly won't be 'popping' on screen in the near future.
For those who don't like my guest appearances in any form, I'm afraid I make a disguised one in the next Gilly film. Talking of which I must finish it off now...
Thanks again. Interesting replies nd happy to hear more.

Should Producers Appear in Films?
I actually think its quite funny when Bill appears, though I dont understand the self doubting Bill, as you've appeared in quite a few including voice overs etc.
Their are two really funny ones, the clay scene with Gilly & Sammi and Messy Missies where you regually appear drunk on the sofa. They both play their part in the films.
I still say offer all these scenes on your store as they'd sell including the clips with you in.
regards
Andy

With our films we`ve always been aware of keeping out of the films and both Malc and Hayley who do our voice overs have managed to keep off screen. However... on our members group they did have a recent request fo Malc to be dunked by the girls. This went to a vote and suprisingly a lot of the guys wanted to see him on the dunk tank so it does go both ways.

I am guessing that includes the guys who wanted him held under!
Only joking, of course...

Coming very soon...
Bill Shipton as computer expert nun Sister Manalyst (aka the Smother Superior) 'gently' helping a bound Gilly off with her clothing...
(Don't worry, that's about all you see of me!)

My two bits? I don't think of anyone else being on camera to much to get envious about at all. If there's too much 'interference' so to say, or I feel that the guy(s) on camera is being a dick (example: obnoxious eromaxx male mud wrestling 'extras' for a brief period in 2004-5) it's a total turn off.
The real concern, though, is that it's all about trust with money. If you let some fellow walk on screen that might have a 'just released from Whitemoor
jail' look, there's a really good chance that a customer will decline to hand over their credit card #, paypal or not. They might otherwise be fine people, but how does a regular punter know that?

As someone who has looked unusual all my life, I am extremely well aware of that. I may well have frightened a few people off in my time (specially with the old nose), though since my roles are usually oddballs or send-ups anyway, I hope it hasn't mattered too much.
I am not stupid. I would never cast myself as a 'romantic lead'. I even feel bad about the brief bits of body touching I have to do in case it looks like 'a weirdo groping that gorgeous woman'.
However I do have one solace. A few years back I made a film with a German TV company who interviewed me at length. As I'd got on quite well with the producer/interviewer, I asked him how he thought I came over bearing in mind I am not exactly Brad Pitt. He said that it was a positive advantage to be odd-looking. "If you looked wonderful, you'd come over as a sort of sleazy pimp," he claimed. "As it is you look like a rather eccentric man who talks amusingly about his work, which is far less threatening." I'll settle for that - and it's why I have not been put off doing the TV appearances despite being hugely self conscious about just about everything else.
Bill
PS As for 'knowing I want to', yes I do. But what I want and what other people want (who are after all the ones who are paying) are two different things, hence the thread.

Nothing wrong with sleazy pimps, now! Though I would like to know more of this guys opinions on sleazy pimps seeing as I presume he worked or was connected to the sex industry in some shape or form? I'd also be inerested to know where you were hiding that nun outfit last time, Bill!

He was the freelance producer of a German documentary series so not really in the sex industry. I am sorry if he defamed any pimps out there (my Russell Brand moment).
My cheap and filthy habit - ie the nun's outfit - has been bought for a Halloween party at my local pub. Hayley has a far sexier one.
