Glad I could be of asisstance. Who knows, if they'd put me in charge of the economy instead of Alistair Darling, we might not be in this mess.

Then again, maybe not.

Legalize cannabis, and everything will be fine again!

BTW, Can I buy cannabis with my credit card?

We'd all be better off using these pre-paid cards:

1) because porn sites are associated (rightly or wrongly) with interception/theft of credit card details

2) because a (small) proportion of purchases from porn sites are made using stolen card details

3) because iBill and some card companies take a cut of up to 15% on payments involving porn

4) because the insurance offered by card purchases is unlikely to be taken up by porn customers in the event of a dispute

5) because credit card companies screw people over as often and for as much as they can

6) because someone out there is logging your details as part of the escalating assault on personal liberties.

These cards sadly don't completely prevent credit card companies making money out of you, but it is less than they would any other way and they certainly discourage fraud so they are fine by me.

By the way, we never store anyone's credit card details either on sploshdownloads.com or gillysillyhouse.com.

And I for one would have Wamadeus as Chancellor. Apart from anything else the budget speeches would be a lot more interesting.

Great call Wamadeus, I have credit cards already but I'm more and more reluctant to use them online. To simply have a card you can top up with as much money as you need to buy a download or two is awesome. Then the most you will ever lose is the money you have put on the card. I'll be more confident buying downloads with one of these cards from now on :D

I have too say I am thinking of getting one. Just for downloads, like people say with fraud etc, it can be a nightmare.

Hi, been lurking for a while.... Just thought I'd stick my 2p in at this point to tell you that paypal now do a pre-pay visa that you can top up from your paypal account (takes 24 hours to show on your card account). http://www.paypal.co.uk/topupcard

Worked fine on clubmpv and downloaddreams.

Hope that helps some people out :D

Had a quick look at the Paypal Card. Seems useful for small amounts of web spending (minimum transaction is about £7), although the T & C's declare that card spending on obscene material is illegal (which presumably means they could impose the same restrictions as Paypal currently does on precisely the sites you want to use a PayPal account on!).

Seemed a good card to carry on holiday for foreign transactions until I started reading the small print - it apparantly can't be used for hotel or car hire bills, so hardly traveller friendly. Maximum throughput / loading is £5000 per year anyway, so seems better used for those small transactions where the integrity, and fund constraints of the card are paramount (paying for those drunken meals out with friends!).
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

Paypal is one company I have had trouble with. These guys sell debts to unpleasant collecting agencies & in the event of disputes, errors or fraud the onus is on the customer to stop the hassles. They should re-name themselves Pay-up-pal (or else).

Buying a card that's completely independent of any other outfit is the main attraction of a garage-sold type of card. As people have said, the risk is solely limited to the amount on the card.

Now, bring on the pies...
