Sploshy feature film

Postby StarryID » 14 Aug 2013, 20:48

Hi,
I'm calling on the wonderful WAM community to help the next great British comedy film.
I'm a screenwriter who has written a feature length comedy about a gas saleswoman who becomes obsessively drawn to sploshing. The final scene takes place in a splosh party.
At the minute I'm trying to get the film made. All I need is a producer and a little funding. If anyone is interested in any of the following please message me:
- Coming along to the splosh party part of the shoot and offering some advice on how it all works.
- Being an extra for a small investment
- Having a bit part for a larger investment.
- Offering some other support (technical, social media, script supervision, producing, organisation, publicity etc).
- Reading the script and helping improve it.
- Using your contacts to drive the project forward.
My email is Fredpeters69@hotmail.co.uk - I look forward to hearing your ideas :)

I have had some VERY limited involvement in two independent films, and wonder if you have done research into or have experience in just what is involved in making a feature length film (apologies if you have).
The actual work of shooting is probably the easy part! Before you start you have the legalities of fund raising and finance (you can't just take funding without a proper prospectus and HMRC approval if you're setting finance up to provide tax reliefs to investors), contracts for studio and equipment hire, legals of contracts for cast and crew, model release, insurance, risk assessments, and numerous other organisational requirements.
Afterwards there's post-production, editing, music, BBFC certification, and finding a distributor, even for a release direct to DVD. Indie films are of almost zero interest for cinema distribution, and many never get a release even on DVD.
One statistic which is sometimes quoted is that less than 10% of British films even recover their cost of production.
But I wish you luck....

Hi this sounds very interesting. I might be able to help as Im very practical so I can solve problems and help build sets.

I also have a vivid imagination and I'm very arty.
