Pies and Oatmeal: Our Show Tests Its Recipes!

Postby MillsApparatus » 26 Jun 2012, 00:37

Last week, our friend Felicia volunteered to try out the recipes we've made for our upcoming dare show. We didn't expect much so we didn't film it and only had a cell phone for photos (I normally use a Rebel XTi for stills and a P2 camcorder for video). She had a great time and our choice of pies turned out very good, they were mostly chocolate cream from a nearby Shaws (extremely thick and gooey, and quite cheap!). Our oatmeal was a little thin for my liking and we didn't really have enough for a bath in it, but Felicia compromised by smooshing her head into the tote we filled with it and ended up pouring the entire thing over her after playing with the goop for a good 10 minutes!

The oatmeal recipe we're going with is quick rolled oats mixed with warm water, stirred, add flour and vegetable oil, keep mixing it and if needed ad Thick It to make it very sticky. We didn't use as much flour so it was a little too soupy but turned out well. We didn't get great stills, but we do have two to share! She cleaned up a bit before each was taken so they're not as great as they could have been, but I have learned to always prepare the pro gear, even if it's just a test!

Full episodes of the show are expected to start shooting in July through September if things go smoothly. Will be posted after a few episodes are fully edited and prepared.
