Some of you may already know easy_as has decided to take a break from the meets and im sure will return in the future. So for the moment it’s myself. If anyone wants to help out and act as fellow hosts on the meets it would be appreciated.
It’s also time to re brand the meet to a ‘Splunch‘. This is a great word and describes more what the meet actually is. It also shows unity with other meets. (Thanks to Miss Helen who come up with the word Splunch which started at the Leeds meet).
In the early days no one could predict how far people would travel to attend a meet. It was initially set up for people in London to pop in for a meet after work in the evening but this has exploded into people coming from all over the uk and aboard. Now more people seem to come from all over rather than London it’s self (including myself! As I have since moved to Milton Keynes).
So there will now be two meets a year.
The Summer Splunch - Around July, this will always be on a Saturday. First meet Saturday July the 7th 2012 from 2pm I will make a post nearer the time about it.
This will allow more for those coming from far and wide and who might want to do a day trip. Also the city type atmosphere disappears at the weekend and has more of a tourist vibe. This will also allow for side events such as going out to dinner in the evening or for those staying over meeting up Sunday for an event (fetish markets, fountain hunting, that kind of thing - suggestions welcome).
The Winter Splunch - Around November, this will be kept to a weeknight.
Keeping more to the roots of the original meet up‘s. This allows for people to pop in after work but there is a nice winter feel about this meet drinking and chatting with a warm fire and good company in the evening. The Christmas lights are amazing that time of year and is great for some Christmas shopping.
I would welcome any comments or suggestions or comments about anything I have said. Otherwise I will see who ever is going to the Bristol splunch and then the new Saturday July London splunch!. Ill make a a new post for it nearer the time (Bill i hope you can put this in the calender for me
