I'm trying to remember who it was who told the story of asking to be introduced "to the raver on the far side of the room in the long purple dress" only to find it was a Bishop! (Who *was* that??)

Re: the clergy and railways, the film 'The Titfield Thunderbolt' (filmed not very far from Mike's area) got it spot on. It was recently on TV (no! I meant television )

@mr angry, I can't remember how many times I've watched 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'; enjoyed it every time but always sad when the traction engine got knocked about. Thats when it becomes a 'weepy' film for me . Great to see 'Lion' in motion (I expect it was not really 'in steam' though, probably burning oily rags in the smokebox). The 14xx was one of my favourite locos especially when attached to an auto trailer. I've got four of them on my model layout, all currently 'in the works' though with various ailments ; so the auto trains have to make do with panniers.

Ah now that raises an interesting point of order.

I suspect this thread should really be called 'locospotters and cross-dressers' rather than transvestites. There is only a subtle difference but, if I understand it correctly, TVs want to 'live the dream' and they dress at every opportunity because they feel a deep-seated need to look female as much of the time as possible, whereas CDs (such as myself) usually only do it from time to time and generally for a bit of kinky fun (e.g. when sploshing). I think TVs don't get turned on by doing so whereas CDs often do. The two lines can blur a bit, of course, though I suspect most of us on here are more CD rather than TV.

Thanks Bill! I was reminded of the days when we would sneak into a loco shed if we thought there might be a 'Streak' or a 'Semi' inside and had to keep a sharp look out for the shed foreman. Sometimes we'd get a benign one who would turn a blind eye but others threatened us with the police! Those were the days when I was just becoming a teenager (and Bill was a glint in his dad's eye!).

We must also apologise to mr sniffles for hijacking his thread, sorry. .

Oh, so it's Mr Sniffles is it. My apologies. I thought the name was Mrs Niffles! Now there's whole new image when reading his/her entries.

Your all forgiven for hijacking my thread, good to see some of you coming out the loco crossdressing closet I feel as though i should confess a little here, I too do some secret at home crossdressing, though i'm more open to my interest in loco's...funny that lol. Though, to be even more honest my main hobby is R/C Model Boats, tugs mainly. To me there's nothing more relaxing than taking ages to glam up in a nice dress and heels only to see everthing i'm wearing get completely ruined...just love it!

For now call me Mr Sniffles, at least until further notice anyway lol.
