Accomodation with pool. your thoughts.

Postby squirtuk » 09 May 2009, 06:00

I'm just building some castles in the sky and wanted to bounce an idea around.

My future plans include re-locating to Greece, and building a house with guest accomodation and a pool, and I have been wondering about my future income.

And one of my ideas has been,

Would there be any takers for such accomodation where full and (on a rotational basis) PRIVATE use of the pool was included.

I know that some people have found accomodation with a pool, but I doubt if clothed wetlook, even some element of water sports, was ever activly supported by the owners.

Does anyone think they might like to avail themselves of this idea, should it ever come off?

Thanks in advance.

We know several people who have rented similar accommodation with sploshing in mind so it may be a goer.

Funnily enough, I've been thinking along similar lines (though not in Greece). My thoughts were that as long as the rental income was surplus to basic living requirements, the idea was sound. I doubt a reliable income could be generated this way - but then that depends a little on where you build, and how close it is to the odd tourist site, etc. I can't see someone flying to Greece JUST to acquire private use of a pool.
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

I agree with driversoft - how many Greek sploshers do you know? But to have it available wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I know of 2 greek sploshers myself (and greeks are *so* hot, imho), but that pool idea is great. My family recently acquired such a place in Andalusia province in Spain, complete with high compound walls, pool and outdoor hot water shower area, and I've gotta tell you, it was absolutely ACE for sploshing, 24/7 - literally swam in dirt cheap olive oil, too.

We spent some time last year trying to find suitable pools where we could film some shoots and didn`t have much luck. Malc did find one that would allow us to film etc but the pool itself was not really suitable to film at. I think there would be a demand for a property with a pool but maybe not in greece.

Hey all

Thanks for the replies, and your thoughts.

The location of the proposed site is on a popular Greek island, well within the tourist areas etc. I would see it as a "nice extra" rather than going espcially for the pool.

However, it's all a bit accademic, as the house and the pool are still only dreams in my mind. If someone would like to let me know Saturdays numbers, in enough time to buy a ticket, then the project could come forward a bit...........

Thanks for the input.
