Just been working with the interviewee in question and whilst she was scanning through her phone she discovered some pics from Bristol she didn't even remember taking, so as Lloyd Grossman would say, "the clues are there...".

Can I say what a good idea videoing meets would be though! Edited highlights that can be put up on the forum like this give everyone an idea of what fun they are. And cheer up those who can't get there. Clips like that should do wonders for attendance.

The next Bristol Splunch is likely to be in April/May 2009 - so as to give an opportunity for more video shoots on the day(s) after - unless an overwhelming number of people want a purely social event in the meantime.

I think the actual meet in the pub should be kept as a purely social event; an opportunity to meet other sploshers and put faces to the names displayed on the various forums. As Bill implies though, if two or three people take some candid video footage it would give a general impression to those who couldn't make it and preserve the memories of those who were present.

Of course the meets should be used to exchange ideas and to plan future events and sessions but there should be no actual sploshing at the meet, even if a venue suitable for that could be found.

I agree, and have not suggested otherwise. The two meets to date have taken place on Saturdays, with outdoor mud shoots on the Sundays. If people want a Splunch other than in the 'summertime', then it will be purely that, unless some loony (no names, no pack drill) wants to do a shoot in snow or freezing mud.

My memories of the meets are perfectly preserved - pickled in alcohol.

There has been no sploshing at the meets, as you well know from being there. If somebody finds a suitable venue, and if it is honestly promoted, who are you or I to say that such a meet should not go ahead? Would you deny the community the Wellingborough Tiswas night?

I do not disagree with any of your comments, Mike. I think you might have misunderstood the general mood of my post though. My principal object was to promote the pub meets in general and agree with Bill regarding the videos. What people do next day is entirely up to them and I praise your organisational skills in arranging a mud meet to follow the Saturday afternoon/evening get-together. I didn't attend the Sunday event for various reasons but I understand that those who did had a very good time.

I must admit that at the time of posting, the Tiswas event slipped my mind but again it sounds as though it was well organised and well attended. My own preference is for an evening drinking and socialising, keeping the sploshing/mud session separate. But that is my choice; everyone is different.

The Tiswas Night was night in a pub with splosh, nothing to do with sploshing!!

I agree, splunchs are opportunities to network and get drunk and basically have a laugh...which leads to more intimate meets
