Me and the missus being avid footy fans have decied to support the match tonight with a difference. Its a sweepstake. I've got England and shes got Sweden.

Shes sitting with her white trousers and white Beckham England shirt with a great big pot of mashed Swede in front of her, and im in my red england shirt and shorts. So far if england score she'll be taking swede for each conceded depending on what number player scores.

Shes got a big bucket in front of me, but i dont know whats in it.........

Were currently planning for yellow cards (Custard) red cards (Jam) and penalties (eggs)

Should be a good game. Hope you all find your own ways to watch as fun as ours.

Any comments and suggestions would be most welcome

Well, that's one way to make it watchable!

Saw the game tonight (first one I've seen), and as I remember you did quite well on yellow cards and goals. Do you get anything for players who do bugger all for two matches then fall down a minute into the third?

Still at least it means England won't play till Sunday. I've got a wedding to go to on Saturday and if they were playing Germany I doubt if anyone would turn up!

Each time Lionel Messi of Argentina is mentioned in the commentary or punditry of any game . . . . .

. . . . the first one to notice it, pies the other one in the face !

If he actually scores . . . cripes . . . you might need to redecorate the lounge !
Who ate all the pies ? What a waste of pie !

Are there any other WAM-related players' names?

I know there's one called Totti but my football knowledge isn't good enough to think up any more puns.

Come on, guys, there must be loads.

PS Totti getting Messi in the box...for example.
