Quick, I need an excuse, very muddy and got a meeting

Now my favourite as previously mentioned is custard, however, it was always mud prior to me discovering that custard was original invented as a moisturiser.

What fun I have had over the last 3-4 days, every lunchtime, advantage of working for yourself, I have just dropped the clothes and took a very spontaneous mud rolling sessions in some really good chalk/marl pits, that more often or not are in the middle of farmland.

I have a certain advantage in this activity, because as an archaeologist I am always in the middle of nowhere, or in the middle of a field, so I can just go for it, totally random and without and prior preparation.

The only trouble is today I went a little to far and got completely covered, while good and very enjoyable I am now back at the office total trashed. Have a meeting in twenty minutes and need to think of some excuses, haven’t got time to wash-up properly – so any excuses I can used would be gratefully received.

Ok, I know perhaps I should have been washing a bit while typing this message, but that would be boring

I will be back in the mud tomorrow lunchtime, pictures of the occasion may be useful

You were walking down a country path, saw what you *thought* was a puddle, jumped, and the next thing you knew it was a metre deep...?

Just say very stoically, "I thought it would be hot to jump in the mud," and carry on the meeting as normal. Probably no-one would believe you so you may as well.
