Perhaps what's needed is an invatation-only private forum alongside this one, where only those who are known and trusted are allowed in? Might be a safer place for female sploshers in general, as some of the public forums do tend to resemble testosterone-fueled bear-pits on occasion.

I have it on some of the best authority there ever was in the Splosh scene that Hayley is real, but TBH that's completely irrelevant. Someone called Hayley has been the life and soul of this place since it opened, and has brought a huge amount of pleasure and fun to lots and lots of people. She deserves our thanks and our respect. Society is founded on respect, those who fail to give it to those who deserve it, do not deserve to be part of society.

How does anyone know that the guy who went to the Leeds Splunches in a boilersuit was actually me? Perhaps he's just a hired actor and the real me is the distilled oil in that glass jug on my UMD avatar, or an 84 year old who doesn't like to appear in public? Would it make any real difference to anything either way?

Hayley's been hurt by all this. I'm not going to ask her to stay, why should anyone be asked or made to stay in a place where they get attacked? But if she does go I for one will miss her.

I am locking the thread as its all I'm capable of. As it happens, Hayley herself is the only one with the power to ban. Bill and I can delete etc, but she holds the banning power, as it were.

I'm sure the attention we've all given "scott34c" has made him swell with pride....in some delusional sort of self absorption that makes him think he's done something special, alone, behind the monitor.

Thank you very much, Dolly, for looking after the forum last night whilst I was out dealing with another crisis (a very sick friend of mine). You are right to lock this thread now cos whatever points that people wanted to make have been made, and Scott has been revealed to be a conman at least. The support has been fantastic and in the light of that, I don't think you-know-who will be disappearing just yet. But give her a bit of time to recover...

In the spirit of BBC-style integrity, I have to say that today I DID POSE AS HAYLEY! But only to be the Administrator and ban Scott following advice from Liberator at UMD who knows far more about people's WAM histories than I do.

I really hope we can move on now and have some festive fun.
