Aha, the last of the snow is gone, and I saw snowdrops flowering in the woods arround St Anne's Fountain when passed by that way this afternoon. Spring is coming early to the estate, and a warm Summer beckons.

Samson's been about a fair bit, I do believe he has a new video camera too. He'll be at the Splunch in spirit, if not in person, alas he has much to do and we can't afford to keep the vast army of servants and groundskeepers which Lady Jasmine's ancestors employed, wages having risen somewhat since then.

Interestingly old Lord Langstondale was I believe the first landowner in the kingdom to employ female estate workers. He travelled widely in the USA in the course of building his business empire and saw women working, dressed in denim, out in the West. Being somewhat ahead of his time, he thought this a most excellent idea and gave instructions on his return that the estate should employ equal numbers of men and women on farm work. The idea worked well, there was less slacking and better attention to work as a result.

The sight of attractive young wenches, as well as lads, in muddy dungarees working the lands round here has been common ever since.

It was a great day, brilliant fun.

A big thank you to Andy and Miss Helen (if you ever get the chance to go and play you must not miss it).

Again, again, again
