snake's 100th post...(yipeeee!!!)

Postby snake » 18 Feb 2007, 03:50

Just wanted to celebrate my 100th post on the Splosh! forum with a few observations/comments/thoughts (call 'em what u like....)

A big thankyou to everyone for making this place such a welcoming environment to post messages, both on and off topic...

Its good to share views with other 'like minded' people. While I've not been able to make it to an actual real life meet (yet), I do feel a sense of 'belonging' from taking part in the wide and varied discussions that happen here.

Its good to have a dialog with Bill and Hayley, the driving force behind the phenomenon that is Sploshing! I remember an early post that I started about who got their copies of Splosh! magazine from where. Was really interesting to hear everyone's experince of exploring the world of WAM prior to the advent of the big WWW which made life so much easier! I'm looking forward to seeing a Splosh! archive site. I'm almost certain to be the first subscriber...!

There's a post from madrox on another thread which goes something along the lines of;

Madrox wrote: Just as Black Sabbath`s deubt self titled album is considerd the cornerstone of Heavy Metal & everything that came after it is just interpretation , for me this scene (from Juicy Pairs) IS Splosh it defines it all in one scene,Emma dressed as a pie flinging French maid struting around confidently & unleashing pie Heaven.
Bill i have a lot to thank you for, but for giving me this visual feast i thankyou from the bottom of my black heart.

Couldn't agree more! There's a lot of WAM sites out there on the web now that try to 'interpret' the Splosh! feeling but get it way wrong. Bill is the master.... lay down and worship him!!!!

So, to summarise (this long-winded post), a huge fat messy hug to you all.

Hope the next fifteen years is as good as the last....!!

Congrats on the 100th post! :D Love the pic posts too, and when I get a bit of spare time im even gonna check the Web 2.0 post...

Just to echo what you've been saying, I used to be a regular poster at the UMD (under a different name) but lately its difficult finding a thread that isnt advertising! Not to knock the UMD which has been doing a wonderful service for years, but its nicer to find a smaller forum like this where you can get a sense of who some of the posters are :D Not to mention the joys of being able to pick Bill and Hayleys brains on messy scenes & trivia! :D

Hi

Big congratulations to you as well, Snake.

A forum is only as good as the people who contribute and it is posts from people like you which are informative, quizzical or amusing that make it work. All we do is set it up and let it go (with just a few smacks on the bum from Hayley when people are getting nasty). Having said that we really don't want this place to become an advertising medium. It is good that some companies post their latest news here and we're happy that happens SO LONG AS the majority of posts are by individuals talking about their experiences, fantasies, interests etc.

As for your kind comments about our material, we love what we do and never let the business side get in the way of having a good time! Some stuff we see (no names - and I hasten to point out none of our regular posters) look like they are churned out to make sure their sites are updated on time. We like gags. As a result, we make stuff to be entertaining as well as a turn-on, and hope to continue in that way. Again that is only possible with the right models and we thank the likes of Gilly, Sammy and Dolly for doing it so well. In short, a bit like the forum, all we do is come up with the ideas.

Yes, there are times when we look at what we think is rather inferior stuff and see how popular it seems to be and get depressed. But it won't stop us doing things our way, rightly or wrongly.

Thanks for being a great contributor, Snake. Enjoy the forum and hopefully the site will just get better and better with time.

Bill and Hayley (now hungover)
