What are the Splosh team up to?

Postby msmithy2003 » 23 Jan 2007, 11:02

Hi everyone

Just wondered if Bill or Hayley could give us an idea of what they're up to at the moment in terms of releasing new material. Are there any new videos/dvds on the way? Any chance of an issue 41 of the magazine?

I for one can't wait to see new stuff from Splosh and would love to hear what you have planned for 2007!

Hi

At this precise moment we are sorting out the download page for the website. When this is done we will have LOADS of NEW videos and some photo sets available for you to download from the site - no membership, just pick what you want! In the long run, we want to make this area similar to the magazine in that it will also have features and fun stuff as well as photo sets and videos. This has been a long process cos we have been finding a credit card billing company happy to handle everything. At Christmas we set this up on Gilly's Silly House to see if it worked, and it does, so we just have to get it to work on Splosh!

Once this is up, we will hopefully be in a position to start releasing material on DVD again. We weren't sure whether DVDs were still popular as everyone seemed to be downloading but sales of the Gilly DVDs suggests that they are. Trouble is, these are expensive as they have to be passed by the BBFC (who charge nearly £1,000 each) so we really need the downloads in place to afford to do it.

Sadly a magazine is unlikely in the near future cos they cost a HUGE amount and sales wouldn't justify it right now. But we reckon we can make the website as much fun as the mag was (the forum has started the process) and may even be able to do PDF versions of the mag to download. Meanwhile, of course, ALL the magazines from 12 upwards are available as back issues

We also have a LOT of stuff to put up on Channel Free for all you guys who only look at free pictures/films etc. Now Hayley and I aren't sneezing quite as much as we were, we shall get to work on that too.

Thanks for the enquiry. We aren't quite dead yet!

Great news!

And thanks to both of you for doing all this. Nice to know that some of "the originals" are still in the business.

Unfortunately since writing that our credit card billing company for the Splosh Shop pages (Nochex) has dropped us so I am having to find a replacement for them at the moment.

It seems every time I make a small advance, something else comes along and knocks me back so I'm thoroughly pissed off right now.

HOWEVER You can still buy DVDs etc by cheque and conventional mail order, you can still download Gilly's videos for just a fiver each (and pay by credit card) and you can still join Gilly's Silly House and pay by credit card.

When the download pages come, they will be handled by the same people who do Gilly's so it is only the "hard sales" (DVDs, mags, books etc) that are currently affected.

I fully agree, nice to remind everyone else where it all began! I wish there was a magazine, but sadly that's the way things go these days, people who want to be more private prefer the internet.

I myself like a hard copy of these kinds of things, maybe one day there can be a sort of almanac? Like a splosh compilation annual with moments from the old mags and the website.

A yearbook that spans decades.

*strokes chin*

Cant wait for the downloads!

I too enjoyed the mags they where great. I have to agree with Bill though the internet has pretty much finished the mag off. The online idea is fantastic, plus you can all send your photos in.

...So let me get this right... the BBFC get to watch all the porn... and charge people for... I'm in the wrong job!!  :?

Seriously, I'd just like to thank Bill and Hayley (and of course everone else who's involved) for keeping the site going... I known it can't be easy, and you must sometimes wonder if it's all worth it. But it is very much appeciated :D

Thanks for the support.

It is fine most of the time, and a lot of fun. It is only when things that are totally beyonf our control go wrong for no reason that I get pissed off (especially when they cost money!).

Creating the stuff for the site (and Gilly's) is lots of fun. It's the business side that is a bore - especially at tax return time!

Mind you, trudging off to the studio this afternoon in the snow will be different...for a south coast seasie resort anyway!
