Hi Driversoft - yes I have seen Kit & the Widow now that you mention it. I saw them up at the Edinburgh Fringe probably about 15 years ago - gosh - where did that go?! They're brilliant but, as Bill says, a slightly different target audience. The nearest double act that was contemporary some 10 years ago when I saw them was "Stiles & Drewe" who were really very F&S-like. (Again, another Edinburgh Fringe find.) Sadly, they seem to have given up performing their wonderfully witty songs to concentrate on what seems to be a blossoming career adapting and writing musicals.

Bill - you're so right about "Design for Living". Another couple of lines foresaw the trend for minimalist loft-style living:
"Our boudoir on the open plan has been a huge success...
Though everywhere's so open, there's nowhere safe to dress!"
Marvellous stuff. ("Well, why not... collect those little metal bottle-tops, and nail them upside-down to the floor? This will give the sensation... of walking... on little metal bottle-tops turned upside-down.")

DD - you must get yourself a CD of F&S - if you're doing revue-style shows, there might be things you could adapt from a 1950s style. After all, these were the guys who wrote "Mud, mud, glorious mud!" You must have heard that? We should make it the official Splosh theme tune!
